কুমিল্লায় শতাধিক শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের সভাপতিকে প্রশিক্ষণ Training Workshop for Presidents of Over 100 Educational Institutions in Cumilla

A day-long training workshop was held in Cumilla for the presidents of managing committees and governing bodies of various educational institutions with the aim of improving the quality of education. The workshop took place on Saturday (August 29, 2026) at the Moynamoti Auditorium of the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD). The Member of Parliament for Cumilla-10 constituency, Mobasher Alam Bhuiyan, attended the event as the Chief Guest. This impactful event was organized by the Citizen Development Society (CDS). The training focused heavily on the responsibilities, leadership, accountability, authority, limitations, and institutional management skills of the governing body presidents and members from over a hundred educational institutions across Nangalkot and Lalmai upazilas. In his chief guest speech, Mobasher Alam Bhuiyan said, "Becoming the president of an educational institution is not merely a title or a matter of social status. A president must play an active and proactive role in enhancing educational quality, addressing teacher-student challenges, maintaining discipline, ensuring accountability, and fostering a conducive learning environment." During the workshop, training on the duties and responsibilities of managing committees, governing bodies, and presidents was delivered by Farhad Uddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor at the Government Teachers' Training College, Chittagong, and Dr. Shamsuddin Shishir. Lalmai Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mohammad Ullah discussed the role of presidents in education, stakeholder accountability, as well as institutional powers and constraints. In a special session, Prof. Md. Jamal Nasser, former Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Cumilla, shared insights on the president's role in advancing education. Syed Mohammad Nurul Afsar, an official from Organization Development Consultants, spoke on strategies for acquiring change management skills to enhance institutional efficacy. Shah Newaz Nizam, President of Nischintapur Abdul Gafur Bhuiyan High School, presented his practical experience regarding tracking systems for uplifting underperforming students. The workshop also featured a review of this year's academic results, identification of struggling students, best practices for presidents, change management in institutional administration, group exercises, and open participatory discussions on real-world challenges. The event was graced by Special Guests Abu Raihan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Nangalkot, and Subrata Biswas Das, UNO of Lalmai. The program was presided over by CDS Chairperson Afsana Bhuiyan, while Shamsuddin Elias, CDS Director and member of the Nangalkot-Lalmai Upazila Education Committee, delivered the welcome address.
